They come so early the camera has to use flash
Richard
About 5 inches of snow fell on Sunday, there was a mini panic as Harley discovered the padlock missing from the gate. After a short search in the snow around the gate area it was located (in Barry’s pocket as he was trying to defrost it whilst visiting his plot).
As for the wildlife the birds have been getting through plenty of seeds and nuts on the pond site and the Robins are becoming very aggressive to each other. There is one pair that defend our plot area and the undeveloped part of the site, one of which will happily feed from my hand. Now the snow is here they are waiting at my window every morning, if not they respond to me calling within seconds and arrive like little missiles from the allotments. There haven’t been any sightings of foxes this year but there are plenty of tracks showing they are hunting all over the site. Birds seen this week include Field-fares, Great spotted woodpecker and a single Gold crest.
